IN HIS GENES by Robin Stratton
now available from Big Table Publishing

Science is predictable. Love isn't.

Cassie hasn’t told anyone about her crush on her boss Dr. Jack Miller. What’s the point? Not only is he dating the fabulously breast-implanted Dr. Renee Temple, but he’s consumed by his search to find the cure for the rare disease that killed his wife and is killing his son. But then an amazing opportunity presents itself, and suddenly she has it all—the identification of the deadly gene mutation, a huge government grant to do more research, fame, and romance. Unfortunately, it involved participating in one of the greatest frauds in the history of biomedical science... but is something wrong if you do it for the right reason?

OF ZEN AND MEN by Robin Stratton
now available from Big Table Publishing

After the sudden death of her husband a pampered housewife discovers
that having it all is success but losing it all is freedom

Claire Barrett should have known her marriage was in trouble but she ignored the signs for years, and it wasn’t until after her husband died that she discovered he’d squandered their savings on another woman. Facing foreclosure and the gloomy probability of moving back into her parents’ house, she seeks escape in the arms of a new man. But a stunning turn of events forces her to examine the role she played in her husband's infidelity as a spoiled wife who spent all her time tending to 26 bonsai trees. Finally she realizes that what she lost was something she never had, and what she found was something she always wanted.

THEN SHE RAN by Robin Stratton and Bob Begin
now available from Whiskey Creek Press

Despite repeated warnings to doctors at the mental health care facility where their special needs daughter was being kept, Bob and Patty Begin received the late-night phone call they dreaded most: Cecelia had escaped and no one knew where she was. Arrogance and negligence in the medical community and Massachusetts' lack of a systematic process for locating runaways meant that Bob and Patty would have to organize and head the desperate search by themselves.

"A heartbreaking and riveting accurate view of the ordeal of adoptive parents
coping with the devastation of reactive attachment disorder."
~ Dr. Nancy Rappaport, In Her Wake

"Amazing and powerful, and unfortunately, a story that continually
plays out within our system on a daily basis... a valuable tool for parents."
~ Laurie Meyers, Massachusetts Community Voices

"Thank you, Bob and Patty, for having the courage to relive
this nightmare so people can see we need to fix the system."
~ Debbie Savoia, Massachusetts Community Voices

Welcome to my site—I'm so glad you stopped by! Maybe you looked up my address after taking my class or attending one of my workshops, or maybe I published your poem or short story in Boston Literary Magazine. It's possible we met when you brought your manuscript to Big Table Publishing and we worked on it together and turned it into a book that was even better than you expected, or maybe you know me from the Newton Writers and Poets Center. However you traveled, it's really nice to have you here!

My life is full of blessings, not the least of which is the freedom to be what most only dream of: a full-time writer. This luxury was not easily come by, as you can imagine, and necessitated working seven days a week and devoting myself to every single literary endeavor I could think of, including a writing guide, two screenplays, and four ghostwriting gigs.

I also tried my hand at short fiction and poetry, some samples of which can be found here or in my chapbooks, Dealing with Men and Interference from an Unwitting Species. But I am a novelist first, and this summer On Air was published by Blue Mustang Press. Copies can be purchased directly from me via Paypal, or you can go here to buy a copy at Amazon.com. Three other novels are under consideration with different publishers: Of Zen and Men, In His Genes, and Blue or Blue Skies. Click on the links to the left to read chapter one of all three!

If you've got a poem or short story you think is good enough to publish, feel free to submit it to us at Boston Literary Magazine. If you've got a completed chapbook that feels like a good fit with our Submission Guidelines please check out Big Table Publishing Company.

Thanks again for visiting!
